Athens and the surrounding area are home to, arguably, the largest number of yachts available for crewed charter in the Mediterranean. When chartering here, two areas offer great itineraries: the Cyclades and the Saronic gulf. When deciding which route to take, bear in mind that the Cyclades can be affected by the strong Meltemi winds in July and August. These winds are strong and can have an impact on charters. It is therefore suggested that during those months, charter guests consider chartering in the Saronic gulf. The Saronic gulf is a well sheltered area. Both locations offer delicious food, charming ports and popular well-known ports.
