Charter Yacht Show Tortola, the BVI, 12-15 November 2024

The Yacht Charter Show in Tortola, British Virgin Islands (BVI), is a renowned event for the yacht charter industry. Held annually, this exclusive show brings together yacht charter professionals, brokers, and crews from around the world.

About the Tortola Yacht Charter Show

Often referred to as the gateway to the Caribbean’s luxurious yachting experiences, the event features a dazzling array of yachts, mostly catamarans, available to charter in this area.

Every year we attend and are always met with innovation, both in terms of the yachts and the ideas from their crews.

Crewed yachts gather in the Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola and welcome brokers and other industry players on board. The BVI community puts on a wonderful show, offering the local flavour in food, music and art. We are also met by local sponsors who are generous in presenting their products and ideas. As a result, we always come back full of enthusiasm for this beautiful part of the Caribbean.

Over the few days of the show, we visit the yachts, talk to the crews, and find out how and why they might be the best charter option for our clients. We spend time really getting to know each crew and learn what makes them unique, what drives them and their passions. All of this helps us to be confident in our pairing of yachts to clients.

While the show is running, competitions are being run. These include the Best Crew, Table Setting, Culinary Competition, Cocktail Competition and finally, the Best In Show. The competitions are taken extremely seriously and to win any of these awards is a huge honour and very highly coveted in the industry.

While the award winners certainly earned their accolades, there are other yachts in attendance that we felt really shone.

Olivia Charles

The yacht on everyone’s mind, it was a huge success. Both the yacht itself and its fantastic crew really made a splash amongst the brokers for the small details. Such details included Hostess Emma hand drawing illustrations of the yacht onto chart maps to gift to clients. Her creative flare was seen throughout the yacht as well as in her super creative food. Olivia Charles is certainly one to watch.

Omakase

A motor catamaran named after the Japanese style of cooking translated to mean  ‘leave the details to us’. OMAKASE does just that. The interiors are beautiful, modern yet warm. The crew have been together for 4 years and know each other so well. They make a great team. OMAKASE is something special.

Ebb & Flow

Stepping on board Ebb & Flow is like greeting an old friend. We are very familiar with this yacht having seen her for the last couple of years and always being impressed. However, this year Ebb & Flow has a new British crew who are trying something a little bit different. They are focusing on great gourmet experiences and chef Rosie is an expert in that.

La Vie Est Belle

a brand new Bali 5.4, La Vie Est Belle is super impressive. Being brand new, the yacht shone but what was more impressive was the exceptional crew. Pepijn and Nicole clearly know what they are doing are make a marvellous crew. Their table scaping was wonderful.

Colibri

A fantastic, experienced yacht with a great charter record, Colibri is a yacht well known in the industry and it continues to shine. This year the crew has a 3rd crew member joining the team – Matilda is a dive and water sports instructor. With Matilda on board, guests will be able to get even more out of their beautiful diving experience and water sports.

Ascension

A yacht in great shape for one built in 2018. We loved the welcoming, cosy, soft interiors, a real home from home. The crew of three were equally as welcoming and we loved that water sports lover and hike adventurer, Maia is also a certified Hatha Yoga instructor. She brings a holistic touch to each journey and loves to start each day aboard Ascension with rejuvenating sun salutations and mindful breathwork.

We look forward to returning in 2025 and seeing what the BVI has to offer us.
