The MYBA Charter Show is a prestigious annual event that showcases some of the finest luxury yachts available for crewed charter. Held in a prime Mediterranean location, historically in Barcelona or more recently Genoa, the event draws yacht brokers, charter managers, and industry professionals from around the world. The Show originally started in Genoa, Italy and was held there for almost thirty years before moving to Ocean Port Vell in Barcelona in 2017. In 2024, the show has returned back to Genoa and we are looking forward to the 35th show being held in Sanremo, Italy.
Organized by the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA), the show has a long history and a dedication to quality. The MYBA Charter Show features an impressive lineup of superyachts, motor yachts, and sailing yachts, ranging from sleek modern designs to timeless classics. The show serves as a pivotal platform for networking, showcasing innovations, and maintaining high industry standards. It provides brokers with firsthand insights into the yachts’ features, crew capabilities, and onboard experiences, enabling them to match clients with the perfect vessels. Attendees can engage in guided tours, attend crew competitions, and participate in seminars that address key trends in yachting, sustainability, and client preferences. We have been fortunate enough to attend the show for many years and each visit is invaluable to us.
The spotlight wasn’t just on the luxurious yachts; it also illuminated the culinary talents and creative flair of the onboard chefs and crew. These competitions allow us to see the talent of onboard chefs and interior teams. In honour of the return of the MYBA Charter Show to Genoa in Italy, the 2024 competing chefs were tasked with the challenge of preparing a dinner party fusing Italian cuisine with the cuisine of another country of their choice. The Italian fusion dinner party had to consist of three courses – entrée, main course and dessert – for six guests, within 35 minutes, and all preparation and cooking was to be undertaken on board. Interior crew were also given a creative task, challenged to create a tablescape based on the theme of the Italian fusion dinner in the most sophisticated way possible. The level of detail in both the cooking and the presentation was extraordinary and all competing crews were exceptional.
