Captain – Kathy Pennington
Kathy was brought up in South Africa and learned to sail at a very early age. She is proud to be one of the few female super-yacht captains. Kathy’s father has been a huge influence in her life. He has always had a passion for sailing and this has been passed on to her. Her father had sailing yachts when they lived in Cape Town and then smaller ones on the Vaal dam in Johannesburg, so Kathy has always been around yachts while growing up
After completing her qualifications, she spent several years restoring boats and doing yacht deliveries in her spare time. This was while she was a full time scuba diving instructor. She soon realised that sailing was her first love and sought to make it a profession. For the last nine years, she has been running a 36-meter classic ketch Tiziana, which is fully chartered and is now looking forward to newer and more exciting times on board S/Y Twilight. Kathy and her enthusiastic team are very hands-on and together they will make your experience on Twilight an unforgettable one.
